Grandma's Garden Design

about

Trish is a retired biologist who has worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Center for the Reproduction of Endangered Wildlife Plant Division at the Cincinnati Zoo, and has published research on American Chestnut trees. She has formerly owned Naturescapes, a landscape business in Ohio focused on residential and commercial designs to preserve native wildlife and incorporate modern ecological concepts. Grandma’s Garden is a continuation of Naturescapes adapted for Northeast Florida’s uniquely varied ecosystems, including coastal, marshland, urban, pine/palmetto, and oak hammock landscapes.

Design

Grandma knew to begin with a plan…
Skillful renderings, scaled plans, customized plant guides, and detailed cost estimates provide vision and guidance to achieve bountiful beds with bodacious blooms.

consultation

Grandma knew that gardens are works of art always in progress…
Careful assessment of soil, water, light and space determine appropriate plant choices for beauty, uniqueness, color, water conservation, ease of maintenance, wildlife diversity, and non-invasive habit. Proper spacing provides room to grow.

hand rendered drawings

Grandma wants to present the best representation of the final design by providing hand drawn sketches of your completed project.

Grandma can also provide these drawings without design.  Send photos to Sales@BrushBustersPlus.com

Grandma knew to toil in the soil…
Grandma’s Garden will meticulously clean out what’s dead, remove invasives and eye-sores, and select quality specimens for your garden.

MULCHING

Grandma knew if it dries it dies…  Mulch retains moisture and biodegrades to add carbon to the soil, reduces weeds, and provides a rich, uniform backdrop for your plants, so your plants will love you for a very long time.  Grandma’s Garden strongly recommends using natural pine bark as the ideal mulch, because it contains no harmful dies, the natural resin has anti-fungal properties, and it is more sustainable than hardwood mulches, particularly cypress mulch.
